I'm Lori Osterberg
… and I want to prove to you that life can be Gorgeous!
hello!
Let’s talk fads. I’ve seen a TON of them in my adult life. I’ve participated in my share too, especially in my 20s and 30s when I was searching for MY way of doing things.
You know what I’m talking about. The latest, greatest diet put out by the latest, greatest guru that promises RESULTS.
But friend? Did any of those honestly produce results? Maybe for the short term. It’s hard to know who’s giving credible health information, especially when nothing seems to work.
So you keep asking questions. Keep looking for solutions. And somehow, out of the massive thing we call the internet, you find a kindred spirit right here. (I believe the universe pushes us to where we should be … you too?)
I have a story … just like you. After years of trial and error, I’ve found a place that provides Gorgeous living every day. I believe that’s where Wellth truly comes from … when you find a place where health and mindset come together, it leads to Gorgeous Wellth.
I created GorgeousWellth to give you tangible, easy-to-implement, realistic and holistic ideas you can incorporate into your own life … Right Now!
There’s a lot of “wellness” blogs out there for women like us right in the middle of midlife ... (here’s what sets me apart)
Every story has a starting point …
And for me, that story starts when I was 28. I was working full time, getting my Master’s degree at night. I pulled into the garage after a very long day of work and classes, followed by a nightmare traffic jam that had me on edge. A little upset, I parked, got out, and met my husband at the door.
His face said it all: “It’s your dad …”
Morning meditation and journaling, a workout and a walk, and finding time for the most important people in my life.
Perusing farmer's markets, tending my garden, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and planning my next adventure.
Fad diets, lies about nutrition, eating for the sake of eating, and not taking care of yourself every day.
Good food, great conversation, a walk with a friend, and sharing a fantastic bottle of wine.
I started asking questions. I started reading everything I could get my hands on. Dr Dean Ornish’s Program For Reversing Heart Disease was one of the very first books I picked up. It led me to others, like John Robbins and Dr Caldwell Esselstyn.
Very quickly, I realized we had been sold a lie about food. The Western diet I’d grown up with wasn’t very healthy at all. It was convenient.
But what good is convenient if it leads to a health crisis?
My superpower is helping women become enamored with a plant-based lifestyle .... and use it to create Gorgeous Wellth!
Out of the blue, my fifty-four year old father had a massive heart attack. He didn’t survive.
I’d watched my father spend seven years of his life re-interviewing for his position with the “stable” company he had worked at for twenty-five years. I’d watched the stress build, his attitude change, and his health decline. I’d watched him count the days until he could retire at fifty-five, gain a guaranteed pension, and try his hand at something new.
He died of a massive heart attack seventy-three days before his 55th birthday.
Something clicked that day. A lot in my life changed.
foun.da.tions: something that forms the base for which everything else develops or is created from
Think of all the ways foundations play a role in this world. Your house would never survive with a poorly constructed foundation. A marriage would never survive without certain goals, beliefs, and values in place. You wouldn’t be the person you are today without foundational education and knowledge.
Foundations are everything.
Yet we seem to forget that when it comes to health and wellness.
In our modern day, multitasking, toxin-filled, constantly go-go-go, fear-based, distracted society, our foundations are falling apart. And it’s setting us back BIG TIME from being the people we could truly become.
When my dad died, I quickly started to realize just how far off track our foundations had become.
Nourishment. Breath. Rest. Mindful slow living. These quickly became the foundation of my life, and the more I learned, the more I knew I didn’t want to wing them. It wanted to DO THEM RIGHT. To live at my full potential, because everything I do, am, or will become depends on it.
Nourishment. Breath. Rest. Mindful slow living. Such a Gorgeous Foundation.
It’s time to ditch the “go-go-go.” It’s time to remove the clutter from our lives that holds us back.
It’s time to rejuvenate and reinvent your foundation.
And this GorgouesWellth blog is here to help you do just that.
My dad gave me the gift of being curious about wellness. He also gave me my daughter.
My husband and I were living large, both working long hours, with powerful goals that went right along with it. A child was the furthest thing from our minds. In fact, we questioned if we wanted kids at all.
But when my father died, I knew his one priority, the one thing he loved more than anything was his two daughters. His work had a sense of stress and frustration. He loved nothing more than to head to a baseball game with his son-in-law. Or talk about books with his daughters.
One year after his death, my daughter was born.
They say kids show up to teach you something about yourself. And my daughter almost instantly started teaching me about food. She declared herself vegetarian at three-years-old. I argued. I finally gave up and believed her at five.
When my daughter said “no more,” I had to quickly figure things out.
Ask a hundred different people to explain “health” and you’ll get a hundred different answers. Take this, no don’t take that. Do this, no NEVER do that. The noise in the health and wellness industry is mind-boggling at best. Even the so-called experts rarely agree. Groundbreaking treatments often become lawsuit-driven protocols in short timeframes. Think back to some of the latest and greatest cure-alls … how quickly they all fell apart. It’s no wonder we all face information overload and feel almost obsessive in our quests for better health.
When my dad died, I went on a quest for better health. I set my end goal in sight: To be a happy, healthy one-hundred year old in the best shape of my life. That goal has changed my life.
Back when I was twenty-eight, I was leading a very busy life. I had a full-time job I loved. I was married to my best friend. I was working on my Master’s degree. We’d bought our first house. We were planning our lives. To say my life was full was an understatement. (Does it sound like yours too?)
Yep, I was the classical high-achiever who wanted it all. And I set out to get it, because I’d been sold the dream! I took “I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan” very seriously! Multi-tasking! Do it all! Yep, those were my middle names.
Then the unthinkable happened. And I started to change.
My end goal has directed the very foundation of everything I do for almost three decades. It’s morphed and changed as I aged. But the foundation never has.
Because it takes foundational wellness in body, mind, and spirit to lead a joyful, spirited, and thriving life.
Yes, I’ve combined science with “woo woo,” modern with traditional, holistic and futuristic to come up with a foundation that actually works. And what’s better is that these practices aren’t “secrets” or something only I can access. I’ve created a cost-effective, low-risk, simple, realistic, and easy to use system that works for you too.
There isn’t one path to health. If someone ever tells you their way is the only way, head for the door. (I once had a doctor tell me I was silly - SILLY - for my beliefs. Yep, I was outta there fast, and deleted every contact I made with her equally fast.)
But what I do believe is there is one approach - YOUR approach - to foundational wellness. It’s a system that gives you the strength to make YOUR best decisions about your wellness. The specific details may change, but the foundation is solid. Because foundations always work.
I’m here to show you that slow living is possible, plant-rich lifestyles are doable, and intentional living is THE BEST WAY to live to 100 and beyond! This is the key to a strong foundation!
And I’m about to show you how to develop your own.
I’m so glad you’re here, my friend. Welcome to the GorgeousWellth blog.
“Gorgeous Wellth!”
But here’s a secret -
Looking for a better way will never, ever, ever materialize …
Unless you intentionally choose another way.
Unless you intentionally sloowww dowwwnnnn
Unless you put mind, body, and spirit first. To be. Wellthy.
Right now, we are living with increasingly fragile systems that are leaving many of us frustrated and overwhelmed …
👉🏻A sick-care system that offers little in regards to prevention
👉🏻An ever-increasing nutritional-depleted food system that no longer offers nutritious foods
👉🏻Fear about what midlife and aging will bring
👉🏻Confusion about how to prepare for a healthy lifestyle at age one-hundred and beyond
In this modern world, we are constantly bombarded with screens and information and the “more, more, more” lifestyle that quite frankly, is leaving most of us tired and overwhelmed. We’re rushing here and there without a goal, without a plan. We’re living on autopilot, hoping “someday” something will change.
I’m here to tell you, it doesn’t have to be that way.
That’s why I created Gorgeous Wellth. To help you implement easy, doable habits that help you grow and change in ways that will create your own Gorgeous Wellthy life!
My philosophy? I’m not here to tell you to create a regimented life filled with to-do lists and tasks you can never finish. (You already have that.)
What I am asking is that you simplify. (We’ve been through a crazy few years, haven’t we? We could all benefit from taking a step back and simplifying. And discovering a life we truly enjoy and DESIRE to LIVE in a GORGEOUS way!)
How are you going to prioritize the coming days, weeks, and months to create moments of gratitude and self-care that allows you to say “ahhh, I truly love my life!”
How are you going to slow down, enjoy life a little more, and create a deeper, more meaningful life?
Welcome to GorgeousWellth
A plant-rich, slow-life-down approach to living
GorgeousWellth … a foundational approach
I get it.
You’re a high-achieving woman with a lot on your to-do list.
GorgeousWellth … a foundational approach
I was vegetarian in my 40s. By my 50s, I was vegan.
Today, I thrive with a plant-rich lifestyle.
I discovered that food doesn’t have to be the mystery we make it out to be. Plant-based isn’t difficult. It’s not boring. It’s not something “you have to do.” It’s not a punishment, and you don’t have to miss out on “real” food. In fact, I eat far better now than I ever did when meat was a staple in my diet.
And I feel better too!
Wellness starts with food. I think of Hippocrates most famous quote almost daily: Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. I believe that today with all of my heart.
I’ve been researching this stuff for close to 30 years. And I like to think I have a knack for making this stuff easy.
That’s why I’m here. Hopefully it’s why you’re here too.

Who decided the American Dream was something to strive for? Who decided we need all of this “stuff”? Why do we need it? Is it helping, or preventing us from being who we want to be, doing what we want to do?
What if it’s all getting in the way of who I’m meant to be?
I have no idea what I want, life is confusing right now. The only thing I’m sure of is THIS isn’t it. There has to be something more.
I believe a woman’s life is uniquely her own. Our beauty stems from all we have to give in this life. It comes from self-knowledge we gain by walking our individual paths. It comes from the wisdom we learn as we tackle each new project (sometimes several at a time.)
Because every turn I’ve made, every lesson I’ve learned, every path I’ve chosen has led me to become the person I am today. I have the wisdom I need to move forward. I can be my own inspiration to move forward. I can critically think and build my own foundations. Because in the end, that’s all that matters.
