I have been writing and building up my platform, GorgeousWellth, for years, where I dig into all things plant-based, intentional living, slowing down, and rediscovering joy in the kitchen.
And people love it! I’ve heard many great comments about how much education this site offers.
I’ve loved blogging. I’ve done it for years – way before it was fashionable to be a blogger.
But as a blogger, I’m always on the lookout for something new.
And Roots! is where I feel I will really shine in the coming weeks and months.
What is Roots!

Substack is a great place to write and get exposure to people who want to read what you have to say. I LOVE Substack. It’s become my daily source of high-quality information, and I’ve been contemplating starting my own for a while now.
I knew I wanted something different. I’ve been playing with Instagram, even opened up TikTok. Patreon? Maybe. Or how about YouTube?
I’ve been online long enough that I’ve dabbled in it all. But nothing felt right …
Until I found Substack.
I’ve tried videos. But here’s the thing: I’m a writer at heart. I devour blogs. I read at least a book a week. I speed my way through many different sites. Reading is what I do … and writing is an extension of that.
Substack allows me to write how I want to write. Plus, Substack allows me to share audio and video files, when I choose to do so. I can share in just about any format I desire.
What’s more, it’s super easy for you to follow along.
Oh, I have many plans for Roots!
But first things first. Everything needs a starting point.
My goal now is to write 1+ new posts every week. Potentially more as I have the time. I’m developing my writing habit here … we’ll see how it goes. I’ll fill it with all kinds of content:
Plant-based (eating, nutrition, lifestyle, I’ll cover it all)
Recipes (yep, plant-based)
Cooking (because you gotta cook to get truly gorgeous food)
Mindful eating (being present changes everything)
Healthy lifestyle (cutting through the weeds on what’s good for your health)
Well-being (mindset matters)
Proaging (it’s my new favorite word, because aging gracefully is sexy!)
Kitchen joy (because we’ve truly forgotten how much fun it is to be in the kitchen!)
And then we’ll see where we go.

This is what I believe: We’re reaching a point where NATURE matters. We’re just starting to figure out that we can’t produce nutrition the way we’ve been doing it for the past few decades and not expect to pay a significant price. We’re paying right now. And so this is the very best time to take control! Helping people better understand Good Food and Gorgeous Wellth matters to me. That’s why I’m here.
What you can expect as we move forward is at least one informative and action-packed article per week, conveniently sent to your inbox for you to peruse at your leisure. I have upcoming “trainings” to help you with journaling, and navigating the kitchen a tiny bit better. Food selection – I hear ya. It’s more difficult then ever, and I hope to provide a little insight there too.
