I haven't always been this excited about good food. In fact, I was probably a lot like you, frequently tired of the boring meals I tried to create for my family. Then I had a wake-call ... three times ... and I started looking a whole lot closer at what it really means to be wellthy!

I have a pattern with the way I choose my cookbooks.

Maybe it’s because I’ve purchased a ton of them, and they’ve sat on my shelf collecting dust.

When someone recommends a new cookbook, I see if I can find it at the library. If I can’t, I head online and try to find their website. Once there, I cook a few of their recipes.

Within a few meals, I can tell if I enjoy the food … or if I’m ready to leave it behind. If I can’t get enough, I buy the cookbook. I know I’ll enjoy cooking with it for many years to come.

Years ago, I came across a site I instantly fell in love with. By cooking just a few recipes, it quickly became one of my go-to sites. I’ve bookmarked so many recipes, I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve relied on the site.

So when the newest cookbook, Love & Lemons Feel Good Food, was published, I downloaded it and saved it to my tablet.

I buy cookbooks in two ways: print and ebook. Sometimes I’ll buy a cookbook both ways.

Why?

Because I love old-fashioned cookbooks. You open them. You write in the margins. You spill on them. They become friends in your kitchen, just waiting to share the next meal.

But I also love to travel. And when I do, I almost always stay at Airbnb’s so I can cook many of my meals. Having my favorite cookbooks on my tablet is a great way to create my go-to meals no matter where I am in the world.

Looking for a cookbook that becomes a staple in your kitchen? You’ll never go wrong with Love and Lemons. Buy their newest: The Love & Lemons Simple Feel Good Food. Buy the first: The Love & Lemons Cookbook. Or their second: Love & Lemons Everyday. Buy them in print. Buy ebooks.

You really will fall in love. ?

About the GorgeousWellth Cookbook Club

Each month I select a cookbook for the month and use it as inspiration for dinner at least once a week. Each month I’ll choose a favorite I’m working with, and share a thing or two I learn.

Wanna play along? I’m keeping this pretty informal – I just want to inspire you to pick up a great cookbook and start cooking too. Hopefully, you can get a lot of these from your local library. If not, you might be able to pick them up gently used through Amazon. Or if you choose to use them for your inspiration as much as I do, maybe it’s time to invest in these and have them ready and waiting on your shelf.

I won’t be sharing the recipes, but I will share some of the results. Let me know if you try any of these, and let me know what you think. Be sure to tag me on IG @loriosterberg or use #GorgeousWellth Follow along as I’ll be adding new cookbooks each month!

Happy plant-based cooking!

“I want to go plant-based, but I lose willpower.”
“I want to go plant-based, but I hate cooking.”
“I want to go plant-based, but I simply don’t have the time.”

Let’s move past those excuses, shall we? Health is the one thing we all seem to take for granted … until we have a problem. In midlife, we often receive a wakeup call that leads to wanting to do more to change.
