I haven't always been this excited about good food. In fact, I was probably a lot like you, frequently tired of the boring meals I tried to create for my family. Then I had a wake-call ... three times ... and I started looking a whole lot closer at what it really means to be wellthy!

I’m not going to lie. I’m one of the “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” kind of gal.

My husband whips up a “smoothie for two” with a powerhouse of nutrients every morning to start our day. Things like:

  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Berries
  • Plant-based protein powder
  • Mushroom powder

We also throw in whatever happens to be in our fridge:

  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Carrots
  • Cucumbers
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Celery

Yeah – nothing goes to waste in our house.

So when we travel, especially slow travel, a month or more at a time, one of our biggest “dreads” is not having our smoothies.

Over the holidays, I noticed a new product being pushed in my direction on Instagram. Blendjet promised to make smoothies on the go, with the ability to blend anything you could put in it. I was intrigued, so I ordered one and stuck it in my suitcase for our month in Mexico.

I’m now a believer! It did a superb job whipping up nutritious smoothies every single day while we were gone.

And what I love most is you honestly can’t mess it up.

Just start adding things!

Yum! It’s a Plant-Based Breakfast!

Start with liquid – coconut water, orange juice, apple juice, almond milk – you need something to keep the blades rotational until everything is mixed.

Then add healthy stuff. We stocked our fridge with:

  • Frozen berries
  • Cucumber
  • Spinach
  • Bananas

We bought a can of protein powder to ensure more good stuff went in.

Then I lined bowls with several layers:

  • Coconut yogurt
  • Granola
  • Sliced bananas
  • Blueberries
  • Smoothie mix
  • Granola

Voila! Breakfast is served!

And similar to what we make at home.

We felt better every single day, not relying on bakeries or just granola while we were gone.

It was the perfect way to keep our lifestyle going … no matter where we were in the world!

And I like that.

It’s easy … so easy you can do it anywhere

I remember the days when we’d travel and grab pastries on the go as we headed out each morning. In an hour or two, we were starving. And that’s when we started snacking.

We always felt bloated and worn out when we got home, excited to start our “healthy breakfast” routine once again.

I mentioned it to a woman who commented she wouldn’t want to be that obsessive about what she eats. When she goes on vacation, she wants to eat like she’s on vacation.

I get it. In theory, it sounds good. Escape. Don’t worry about what or when. Just eat for fun.

And yet that’s what always wore us down.

When you discover wellness through plant-based living, you understand that everything about your health starts with good food. It materializes in many ways when you throw it all away, even for a few days or weeks.

I don’t get that anymore. No matter if I’m home or traveling, I find a way to prioritize my health by eating good food.

It’s my approach to foundational wellth.

You too?

I’m excited to share these tips with you. If you’re a high-achiever who has ever felt this way while traveling, I’m telling you there is a better way.

Next time you’re heading out of town, put a little thought into your breakfast routine. Pick up a Blendjet – I truly love this blender! Then head to the grocery store after checking into your location. Pick up a few fruits and veggies, and a container of protein powder. Layer a bowl with granola, and you’ll have a powerful start to your days.

It works for me.
